Donelan also announced the launch of a review into the use of sex and gender questions in scientific research and statistics, with a goal of producing “robust guidance” by spring 2024. The review will be led by Alice Sullivan, head of research at University College London’s Social Research Institute.

The research project – funded by the taxpayer – did, in fact, happen but has yet to be published.
